Nick Carey - Biography

Cumbrian born Nick has over 15 years experience performing Funk, Acid Jazz, Rock, Pop and Blues, Nick's been lucky enough to showcase with named artistes including Carleen Andersen, Teri Lynne Carrington, Bob Malach, Ace and Mark Rich.

He was taught by renowned London based tutors Stefan Redtenbacher, Paul Geary and Paul Francis (you may know them as columnists in Bass magazines).

Nick's a graduate of the Academy of Contemporary Music and has studied with the Liverpool Insititute of Peforming Arts (LIPA). He has a thriving teaching business with students coming from as far as Blackpool, Liverpool and Cheshire in order to study bass with him.

His style is 'in your pocket' groove playing with a rhythmic ghost note vibe with some tasty improvised parts thrown in. Influences include: Rocco Prestia, James Jamerson, Billy Sheehan, Sting, Jaco Pastorious, Paul McCartney, Geddy Lee, Michael Anthony …. the list goes on.
